Who is FIA?

Food Industry Asia (FIA) is a professionally run, non-profit member association founded in 2010 by a group of food and beverage multinationals.
 
From our base in Singapore, our team of industry experts represent the views of industry on a multitude of complex issues impacting food and beverage companies operating in Asia Pacific.

What kind of companies are members of FIA?

FIA represents more than 45 food and beverage brands, ingredients suppliers, food service and other across the supply chain providing a platform for advocacy and debate, and the ability to foster non-competitive dialogue. 

What stakeholders does FIA work with?

FIA works with stakeholders across the region from governments to regulators through to national industry bodies, academia and other non-governmental organisations.

What sort of work does FIA do on behalf of members?

The role of FIA is to represent the views and positions of industry across issues ranging from sustainability, resilient supply chains, nutrition, regulations and trade, and food safety. We advise governments on the critical policy issues and how to work with industry, as well as collaborate with regulators on building appropriate regulatory frameworks for existing and new or novel foods. We even implement capacity building programmes to improve food safety standards in developing markets.

Does FIA have the expertise to carry out the work?

FIA has a team of experts who have experience in public affairs, regulatory affairs, food safety, nutrition, sustainability and communications. Unlike other associations, FIA seeks strategic input from members and guidance on implementing projects to ensure members have a voice. However, we have the skills and experience to carry out work on behalf of industry and implement projects. We also provide regular updates and analysis on regulatory and policy developments across Asia Pacific.
