ARYZTA, a global food business with a leadership position in frozen bakery, par-baked artisan breads and specialty bakery has joined FIA this month, becoming the 22nd member of the fast growing organisation.

Created in 2008 through a merger of the Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society (IAWS) and bakery company Hiestand Holding AG, ARYZTA is the third largest bakery company in the world and a global leader in the specialty bakery sector. ARYZTA has a primary listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange and a secondary listing on the ISE Irish Exchange.

The group supplies baked goods to the Foodservice, Retail, Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sectors in 19 countries and operates 53 bakeries and kitchens across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The group has strong brands and customer relationships in all of the regions it operates in and is driven globally by its strong customer centric focus.

Armin Bieri, Chief Operating Officer of ARYZTA Asia Pacific said: “We are very pleased to be joining FIA at this time. Asia’s emerging middle class and strong economic growth means it is a fast-growing market for the quick service and bakery sector and a strategically important region for our business.

“We look forward to working closely with other companies within the FIA network to address some of the unique non-competitive challenges and opportunities that the food industry is facing in the region,” he said.

ARYZTA’s portfolio includes a wide range of artisan breads, frozen cookie dough, sweet baked goods, reception goods as well as an array of other savoury items such as pizza, tarts and pies. The group has invested in its manufacturing capability and has established a market leading position in frozen bakery. ARYZTA stands for uncompromising quality and authenticity, which is evident in their consistently exceptional breads and baked goods. ARYZTA is dedicated to using the highest quality ingredients to provide an outstanding quality product for consumers.

FIA Executive Director, Bev Postma, welcomed the company to the organisation, saying:

“We’re delighted that ARYZTA has joined FIA this year. With its highly-regarded position in the speciality bakery sector and strong commitment to food safety, ARYZTA is an excellent addition to FIA’s growing network of leading food and beverage companies.

“The ARYZTA team will bring new insight and expertise to our Committees and Working Groups and we look forward to collaborating with ARYZTA’s experts on key non-competitive industry issues across food safety, nutrition and trade,” Ms Postma said.
