FIA Video: E-commerce and Innovation To Drive Retail Growth

“Retailing – whether it’s online or in a physical store, is a response to consumers,” said Ms Joanne Denney-Finch OBE, Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD) Chief Executive, within the context of how grocery retail innovation – in both arenas – can complement growth in the sector.

In an exclusive interview with Food Industry Asia (FIA), Ms Denney-Finch touched on how, in addition to the convenience of e-commerce and home delivery, brands are increasingly seeking to create unique experiences for consumers in-store.

She said, “Because I don't believe that physical stores will disappear, I think what it means is that the physical stores will reinvent themselves… doing the sorts of things that people like to do when they shop.”
