FIA Secretariat Appoints New Director

SINGAPORE – FIA is pleased to welcome Shane Landon as the newest member of the Secretariat, where he will take on the role of Director, External Affairs and Communications starting in April.

“I’m excited to join FIA and am looking forward to contributing toward the accomplishment of the organisation’s goals,” Landon said. “Asia is a crucial region, and the private sector is playing a key role in partnering with communities, governments, regulators and NGOs to find win-win solutions. I’m eager to join this innovative platform at such a critical stage of its growth.”

With a degree in human nutrition and dietetics, combined with qualifications in marketing and an MBA, Landon brings a wealth of skills and experience to the FIA Secretariat. In his previous role as Founder and Director of Australia-based Nutrition Marketing Solutions Pty. Ltd, he spent the last 15 years providing specialist advice on health policy and communications strategy to a variety of international food industry clients. At FIA, Landon will lead the organisation’s external affairs and communications activities and work closely with the regional Public Affairs Committee.

“We’re thrilled to have Shane on board,” said FIA Executive Director Bev Postma. “He has a great depth of knowledge in the food and beverage sector, and his combined expertise in science and communications will significantly enhance the organisation’s capabilities.”

Shane will be joined in Singapore by his partner Jolie, their two children Eva and Fletcher, and their Jack Russell, Webster. They look forward to experiencing the cultural dimensions of the region and to enjoying the wide variety of food options for which Singapore is famous.
