As part of FIA’s broader activities to showcase the benefits of non-competitive industry associations in Asia, FIA will host a series of events in the margins of the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Global Summit from 12-14 June in Tokyo, Japan.

On 11 June, the FIA Coordinating Council will host an Open Council Meeting for CEOs and their invited guests to discuss FIA’s strategic vision for the next three years. The meeting will conclude with a private master class on “The Essential Dynamics of a High-Functioning Board of Directors” presented by the renowned author and visionary Professor John C. Beck.

Prof. Beck, who is President of the North Star Leadership Group and Managing Director of Hult Labs at Hult International Business School, has served on the Board of Directors of various corporations and universities, and has vast experience providing strategic counsel to global leaders including Cambodia’s first Prime Minister, Prince Ranariddh, during the country’s first three years as a democracy. He has published books, business reports and articles on strategic management, leadership and globalisation, and will be sharing his personal insights and experiences during his session at the meeting.

FIA Executive Director, Bev Postma, said: “We are delighted that Prof. Beck has agreed to join us in Tokyo to share his unique insights and experiences from around the world.”

“This special meeting in Tokyo will mark the third anniversary of FIA’s inauguration will and allow us to engage with a broader range of companies as we seek to expand our network in Asia. It is also an example of the value-add sessions that FIA offers to its members as we bring together the industry’s senior business leaders to share best practice and accelerate progress on the region’s major non-competitive food issues,” she said.

The following day, Members and guests will participate in the CGF Global Summit, which will focus on existing and upcoming consumer trends in Asia, and how businesses can ‘crack the code’ in adapting business models for Asian consumers. The Summit will also feature global speakers from various businesses and organisations, and different plenary business sessions.

“This is one the industry’s most significant events and as a member of the CGF Liaison Group, FIA is delighted to be hosting a series of events in conjunction with this important Summit.

“The Summit will provide a significant platform for us to further strengthen our partnerships with other industry organisations at a global level and highlight our position as the leading voice of Asia’s food industry,” Ms Postma said.

FIA Members and guests are invited to celebrate and mark the third anniversary of FIA at a private cocktail reception at 7pm on Tuesday 11 June at the Peninsula Hotel. To receive your exclusive invitation to this private event, please kindly contact engfong.liong@foodindustry.asia.

FIA Members and their guests are kindly asked to present their business cards to gain entry to the lounge.
