A healthy diet means eating a wide range of food and getting the balance right. Front-of-pack (FOP) Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) nutrition labelling is a valuable tool to help people understand more about the nutritional value of the food they eat. Being able to quickly identify the level of calories in a product, for example, makes it easier for consumers to focus on the most important factor: maintaining their energy balance. They can also use such labelling information to make simple changes and thus, improve their diets.
This short video explains what GDA nutrition labelling is, its importance and how to apply understanding of it to make more informed dietary choices.
