Ehab is currently the Regional President for the Mars Wrigley Confectionery segment in Asia-Australia, Middle East & Africa and is a member of the Mars Wrigley Confectionery Board of Management. Ehab covers geography that is home to more than half of the world’s consumers and is the future growth engine globally. He is managing the full P&L of a business that is > USD$ 3.0B in RSV, more than 3000 associates and a broad footprint of manufacturing facilities. He joined Mars in 2000 and championed the company’s market entry into Egypt and then covered the North African and East Mediterranean region, leading 17 markets. In 2007, Ehab was appointed as the GM of Mars China where he transformed the business quadrupling its sales and accelerating its profits 5 times, turning China into a power house for the Mars Global Chocolate business. In 2011, he led the creation of the Asia Pacific region for the Chocolate segment.

Heng Swee Keat

Mr Heng Swee Keat is the Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC. The Ministry of Finance manages the national budget, oversees corporate governance regulations, and supervises the prudent investment and utilisation of public funds and government reserves. Mr Heng co-chaired the Committee on the Future Economy (CFE), which charted the strategies for Singapore's next phase of growth. He chairs the tripartite Future Economy Council, which oversees the implementation of national strategies in areas such as skills and capabilities development, innovation and productivity, and industry transformation. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the National Research Foundation, which sets the direction for Singapore's research, innovation and enterprise strategies.

In this capacity, she follows in the footsteps of her husband’s grandmother Queen Juliana, who founded Save the Children in the Netherlands in 1980 and remained honorary chairman till her decease in 2004. In her capacity as patroness she is ambassador of child rights and raises awareness for the position of children worldwide. The Princess specializes in the thematic area of nutrition. Christina Law has overall management responsibility for General Mills in the regions comprising Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Law assumed her current role in January 2017 after serving as region president for Asia, Middle East and Africa. Before joining General Mills in 2012, she was vice president of Worldwide Neutrogena and Worldwide Face and Sun Care for Johnson & Johnson, where she led business and brand portfolio growth across the world. Law held various prior leadership positions in her eight years with Johnson & Johnson. She was responsible for the acceleration of Johnson’s Baby business in Asia Pacific, especially within emerging markets, while serving also as general manager for Singapore consumer business. Law was then appointed as vice president of Beauty Care for Asia Pacific where she established consecutive years of strong growth behind robust innovation for the skin care brands. Law previously spent nearly 13 years with Procter & Gamble based in Switzerland and Singapore, assuming various marketing roles of increasing responsibilities for Europe and Asia Pacific countries. She has years of international experience working in developed and emerging markets and in numerous product categories in the consumer goods industry. Law began her career working for Shell Hong Kong for 2 years.

Prerna Suri

Prerna Suri is an award-winning journalist, who has worked with global newsrooms like BBC, Reuters, Al Jazeera English and Channel NewsAsia - gaining global TV recognition as a foreign correspondent and an in-studio presenter. In 2007, Prerna was the only woman foreign correspondent from Darfur. In 2008, her report on mismanagement of the surrogacy industry sparked a debate in the Indian parliament. In 2010, she was the only foreign correspondent to report from India's Chattisgarh region. During her career, Prerna has reported on other defining historical moment such as the Syrian refugee crisis, Sri Lanka's civil war and various elections. She has also interviewed several head of states. Prerna gained her MSc in Gender & Media Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her BA (Hons.) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. She is a fellow at the Asian Forum on Global Governance, taking a close look at the Asian region and at the challenges facing the global community.

Maurizio Brusadelli is EVP & President Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) for Mondelēz International since January 2016. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for more than 100 markets in the region. He is also a member of Mondelēz International’s global management team. Since relocating to Singapore in 2014, Maurizio has been President of Markets & Sales and President of the Biscuits category in Asia Pacific for Mondelēz International. Maurizio holds a degree in Business and Economics from Bocconi University, Milan and is a Chartered Accountant. Having lived and worked in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the UK and Singapore, he is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish.

George Graham

George joined Mars in 1997 into the Slough Chocolate R&D team. In 2000, he took a 2 year assignment as Product Development Manager in Dubai before moving to the US North America R&D Team in New Jersey.  During his time in the US, George has enjoyed a diverse range of experiences within Mars North America including; in the Health & Nutrition Business, where he led a group of entrepreneurial Associates in R&D and Supply as well as when he was appointed Global R&D Strategy Director.  In June 2012, he moved to Mars Food USA as the Head of R&D in the Food North American Management team, before moving to Guangzhou in China as the VP of R&D Wrigley China. George is currently the VP of R&D AMEA for the newly formed Mars Wrigley Confectionery and is based in Singapore. George has a Master’s degree in Laser Physics from the University of St Andrews in UK.

Mr. Praveen Someshwar is Senior Vice President & General Manager of PepsiCo Asia Pacific Region’s NAPIM Business Unit, which includes North Asia and parts of South East Asia. He presently looks after the Beverage, Snacks and Nutrition businesses across these geographies. A 24-year PepsiCo veteran, Mr. Someshwar previously served as the head of PepsiCo’s North Asia and Philippines Business Unit and Asia Pacific Region Sales, and also lead PepsiCo’s beverages and foods businesses in India. Mr. Someshwar prior to that was PepsiCo India CFO from 2007 to Jan 2009. While he has lead businesses across Asia, he has over his career handled leadership roles across many disciplines, including finance, strategy and planning and sales. Mr. Someshwar started his career with ICI now part of Astra Zeneca and Akzo Nobel. He studied to be a chartered accountant at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a cost accountant at the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.His passions are to build PepsiCo's nutrition business in Asia Pacific, while creating a gender diverse leadership pipeline.

Dr. Ralph is currently Director, Food and Nutrition, Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. In his current position with A*STAR, Ralph is working with strategic partners to administer and develop new initiatives and programmes in the research areas of food and nutrition. He has a co-appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor with Nanyang Technological University, School of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering. He also sits on the advisory panel of the Food Innovation & Resource Centre, Singapore Polytechnic as well as multiple grant review committees. Ralph has over 12 years of experience in the local and global biomedical and nutrition industry. Ralph graduated with a master in Biology from the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany and attained his PhD from the National University Singapore through the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology. Ralph attended the Food System Leadership Institute, a program of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Pier Luigi Sigismondi

Pier Luigi Sigismondi is the President of Unilever South East Asia and Australasia (SEAA). He is responsible for the total performance of one of Unilever’s largest and fast-growing regions South East Asia and Australasia (SEAA); which encompasses 11 markets and a large portfolio of leading personal care, homecare, refreshment and food brands. Pier Luigi is integral to the strategic development and delivery of Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan for driving long-term business value in the region. He joined Unilever in September 2009 as Chief Supply Chain Officer where he led the global operation comprising 240 industrial sites across 190 markets around the world. He was accountable for Unilever's end-to-end value chain and created one of the best Supply Chains in the FMCG industry, before moving to his current role as President of Unilever South East Asia and Australasia (SEAA). Pier Luigi is a member of the World Economic Forum ASEAN Regional Business Council and Grow Asia Council. In addition, he is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Ben & Jerry's.

Pascal de Petrini

It’s in the Danone Dairy division that Pascal De Petrini started his career as an Industrial Engineer as early as 1984, but it’s the Biscuit Division that saw him grow: as a Supply Chain Director of LU France in 1995 and as a General Manager of the Biscuit Branch in China 3 years later. That’s when he started his 20-year long journey in Asia, later transitioning from General Manager ERP THEMIS in 2002 to General Manager of Aqua Indonesia 2 years later and subsequently Regional Vice-President Waters Asia-Pacific. In 2008, Pascal was appointed Regional Vice-President Early Life Nutrition Asia Pacific in addition to his Waters responsibilities. He joined Fraser & Neave in 2011 as CEO Food & Beverage, prior to become, within Fonterra, Managing Director Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa in 2013.He joined Danone back in 2015 on different Executive roles leading the Strategic Resources Cycle globally, from their Singapore Headquarters. He is currently Chairman Asia for Danone.

Daniel Abramowicz

Dan Abramowicz is Crown’s Chief Technology Officer with global responsibility for innovation and technology development across Crown’s business platforms. These efforts include new product and process design, product and process improvements, material developments, engineering, process monitoring, database development and cost reductions across the breadth of Crown’s packaging products (food cans and ends; beverage cans and ends; aerosol containers; metal vacuum closures; metal specialty packaging; crowns, glass bottles, and packaging equipment).  In addition, Dr. Abramowicz heads Crown’s EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Organization and Crown’s Sustainability Steering Committee. Dr. Abramowicz is an active volunteer for non-profit organizations and he is currently serving in several leadership roles with such organizations, including Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees at Salus University, Chair of the Executive Corporate Board and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Franklin Institute (a renowned science museum), and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School.   

Trish Hyde

Trish is an accomplished leader across diverse areas (regulatory / services / manufacturing / distribution / packaging) and a business builder. She has significant experience and strengths in strategy, marketing, and sustainability, along with a dash of determination. In 2016 as CEO of the Australian Packaging Covenant (APC), Trish led the Covenant co-regulatory framework and organisation back from the brink of oblivion, successfully negotiating the Enhanced Covenant, and setting the multi-ministrial and broad-membership endorsed 2022 APC Vision and Strategic Plan. Inspired, this year Trish established The Plastics Circle – a business start-up to drive innovation and commercial opportunities that put the circle into circular economies in Asia. Her work spans non-profit industry collaboration and education initiatives; scrap plastic end-market development; technology applied within market contexts and regulatory and stakeholder engagement. Trish has over 15 years’ corporate leadership experience in complex multi-stakeholder and highly regulated environments. She holds a Masters in Commercial Law, another in Corporate Leadership, a Bachelor of Business, and is a qualified teacher.

Fraser is an experienced economist and management consultant, with deep experience in Asia and on sustainability issues. Fraser is a Director and co-founder of AlphaBeta, a strategy firm which specializes in sustainability issues. Fraser has led AlphaBeta’s work with the Business & Sustainable Development Commission (BSDC) on understanding the role of business in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has also led several engagements on tackling plastic waste, including how to establish investment models that can help create closed-loop waste systems in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining AlphaBeta, Fraser was a consultant for 9 years at McKinsey & Company. This included leading the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), the economic research arm of McKinsey, in Southeast Asia and on sustainability topics. Prior to joining McKinsey, was a consultant at the World Bank, a lecturer in development economics at Oxford University and a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Australia. He holds a PhD and MPhil in economics from Oxford University and is a Rhodes Scholar.

Jonathan Middis

Dr. Jonathan Middis has been working in food and beverage technology for 22 years.  He is recognised as a smart and commercially astute R&D leader in the industry who is able to match technical know-how, forward and blue-sky thinking with commercial imperatives to deliver great businesses in partnership with commercial teams. He has also been an Industry Specialist Innovation Speaker in Australia since 2011. Jonathan was most recently the Chief Technical Officer and Board Member with Lang Technologies International Pty Ltd where he worked from 2014 to 2016. He has consistently driven cultural change, identifying new innovation ideas and implemented modern technology, new development programs and training courses to help build technical direction and depth wherever he has been.  He has exceptional management skills and has led many R&D teams with major success winning numerous industry recognition awards in the process. Jonathan now heads up Tamu Innovations which is the R&D arm of Tamu Pte. Ltd., a Singapore headquartered agricultural processing company, overseeing ongoing research programs with leading universities in Melbourne, Australia.

Nick Halla

Nick Halla joined Impossible Foods as its first employee and has helped build the company from the ground up. Nick leads corporate strategy, business development and international development. Before joining Impossible, Nick was an expert in food commercialization at General Mills, where he developed and launched several new product lines and designed large-scale food manufacturing systems.  He also has experience in agriculture, having grown up on a family dairy farm, and commercializing new technologies such as solar, energy storage and biofuels. Nick holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an M.S. in Environment and Resources from the Stanford School of Earth Sciences.

Josh Tetrick

Josh Tetrick is the CEO and cofounder of JUST, a San Francisco-based company on a mission to bring delicious, accessible, healthier and more sustainable food to everyone, everywhere. Prior to founding JUST, Tetrick led a United Nations business initiative in Kenya and worked for both former President Clinton and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. As Fulbright Scholar, Tetrick taught schoolchildren in Nigeria and South Africa and is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Michigan Law School. Jenny Costelloe is founder of Collective17, a network of experts who advise organisations on global partnerships for sustainable development. This role combines Jenny’s her sustainable development experience, with her extensive network and her ability to build collaborations. Jenny has worked in a wide range of sectors on a broad number of topics, but specialises in the food and agriculture sector and in women’s empowerment. Prior to setting-up Collective17, Jenny was Director, Country Partnerships, at Grow Asia, a multi-stakeholder partnership platform that catalyzes action on inclusive and sustainable agricultural development in South-East Asia. Jenny was responsible for supporting the establishment and strengthening of country-based partnership platforms, identifying and bringing together partners, and supporting them as they collaborate. Her role involved bridge-building, problem-solving and brokering partnerships for sustainability. Since 2007, Jenny has worked in leadership positions as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development consultant with a range of organizations and sectors across Asia. Before embracing the world of CSR and sustainability, Jenny held several corporate communications roles in the international oil and gas sector.

Tong Shuh Lan

Shuh Lan oversees the food industry division in Enterprise Singapore. As the lead agency overseeing the development of Singapore’s food industry, Shuh Lan and her team in Enterprise Singapore work with other government agencies and associations to spearhead the development and implementation of the Industry Transformation Maps of the  food services and food manufacturing industries, to uplift the productivity and innovation capabilities of Singapore companies, facilitate collaboration among local and foreign players and position Singapore a leading food and nutrition hub for Asia.  Prior to the current portfolio, Shuh Lan was Director of Business & Service Excellence which on-board some 500 organisations each year from both services and manufacturing sectors on the Business Excellence and the Customer Centric initiatives.

Amir Zaidman

Amir Zaidman is the vice-president of business development of "The Kitchen", a seed investment vehicle and the first and only Israeli technology incubator focusing on FoodTech. He is in charge of deal sourcing and biz-dev support to portfolio companies. Amir also takes an active role in leading the FoodTech community in Israel.  He manages the Israel FoodTech Innovation group on LinkedIn, as well as a MeetUp group that holds monthly events for FoodTech entrepreneurs. Amir has more than 15 years of experience in business development and early stage investments in several technology sectors. 

Gary Scattergood

Gary Scattergood leads William Reed’s Asia-Pacific team as Editor-in-Chief, based in Singapore. The company publishes the digital titles FoodNavigator-Asia and NutraIngredients-Asia, as well as organising a number of high-level food and nutrition conferences and summits. Gary started his career as a newspaper journalist in UK, where he we went on to edit several regional titles. He first joined William Reed in 2011 as Editor of Food Ingredients, Health and Nutrition, and Associate Editor of Food Manufacture. After two years, Gary moved on to take over the leadership of several global travel / retail publications and events, before moving to Asia to lead the region-wide teams for communications and advertising business media brands PRWeek and Campaign. He re-joined William Reed in August 2016 to open its first Asia office in Singapore and spearhead the expansion of its food and nutrition coverage, face-to-face events and commercial operations across the region. Gary has hosted, presented and moderated at conferences and awards shows around the world, and has regularly appeared on TV and radio to discuss the food and nutrition, travel and tourism, and media and marketing industries.

Arturo is CEO of Clara Foods, a sustainable food-tech company leveraging advanced fermentation to develop performance protein products including the world's first animal-free egg white. Ricky Lin is the founder of Life3 Biotech, a start-up company focusing on innovative functional foods and beverages through the use of natural plant-based ingredients; to address health concerns such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and osteoporosis attributed to poor nutrition and lifestyle habits. Life3's work on plant-based protein as an alternative to meat, bagged two out of five awards in the Singapore Food Innovation Product Award 2016. Their work has also been exclusively featured by the various media platform such as TechInnovation Singapore, Channel News Asia, Today, Asia Pacific Food Industry, The Edge Singapore as well as The South China Morning Post. Apart from work, Ricky actively contributes to the local and international community. From leading the West Coast-Ayer Rajah GRC Youth Executive Committee for 10 years as a Chairperson to serving as the District Councillor to Mayor of South East Community Development Council, Ricky believes in championing changes through innovation and collaboration in cross-disciplinary studies.

Eugene Wang grew up immersed in the vegetarian food business. He began consulting and leading food companies in the vegan and vegetarian food categories and since 2004, his vision for launching the first Vegan Seafood has manifested into a viable category innovation lauded by the press and social media thought leaders, as well as natural trade industry leaders. The Sophie’s Kitchen Vegan Seafood phenomena has brought him the accolade ‘Vegan Visionary’.

 

Yuki Hanyu

In 2015, Yuki founded Intergriculture Inc., which develops clean meat, clean foie gras and other cellular agriculture products based on our unique low-cost general-purpose large-scale cell culture technology. In 2017, he was the winner of the Japan Global Impact Challenge in the Sinularity University Global Solutions Program. Prior to this, he launched the "Shinjonmeat Project". which was a citizen science cellular agriculture initiative in 2014. He graduated from University of Oxford with Ph.D in Chemistry in 2010 and became a post doctoral research associate at Tohoku University in Japan. He then became a research fellow at Systems Engineering Laboratory, Toshiba R&D Centre.

From 2012 to 2015 she coordinated the European Nutrition Leadership Platform (ENLP), connecting 1,000 key players in food and nutrition.

 

Eddy Lee

Eddy has invested in more than 50 US and Asian startups. He relocated from the Silicon Valley to Southeast Asia to cofound Coffee Ventures so as to tackle unmet needs in emerging markets. The early stage fund focuses on people development, product-market iteration, and go-to-market strategy. He mentors at Stanford University’s StartX accelerator among other institutions, and was previously a consulting professor, a medical imaging scientist, and a circuit design engineer.

Matthieu has over 25 years’ experience in investment management. Most recently, as Senior Managing Director, Director of Research as well as a member of the Executive and Investment committees of Everest Capital. Matthieu has a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from Universite Paris Dauphine and graduate degree from Sciences Po.

Matt is the Executive Director at Food Industry Asia (FIA), the food industry’s first regional industry platform for major food & beverage companies. He reports to a non-profit board of regional CEOs from multinational food and drink companies. Matt, with a dedicated team of 13 secretariat staff, is responsible for delivering impactful policy outcomes in nutrition, food safety and regional trade across Asia through the establishment of multi-stakeholder platforms and capacity building projects on areas related to health and nutrition, food security, trade liberalisation and regulatory harmonisation. This is done through forging sustainable partnerships with a variety of government agencies, regulators, academia, NGOs and IGOs. Matt is a seasoned corporate affairs professional with more than 18 years of experience specialising in stakeholder relations, policy analysis, government relations and journalism. Originally from the UK, Matt has spent 13 years in Asia living in China, Taiwan and Singapore. He holds an MBA at the UK’s Lancaster University Management School.
