SINGAPORE – FIA welcomed four new representatives to its Coordinating Council and elected a new team of Office Bearers at its 2012 AGM, held 12 April in Singapore.

The new Councillors are: Amit Banati, President Asia Pacific Kellogg Company, who replaces Jinhong Kim of Kellogg’s as FIA Vice President; Kapil Garg, COO, Royal FrieslandCampina; and Steven Lee, Chairman Emeritus, McDonald's Taiwan.

Mark McCormack, President & CEO, Kerry Ingredients & Flavours Asia-Pacific, takes on the role of FIA Treasurer in place of term-limited John in de Braekt, President, Asia Pacific, Mars, who served in the role since FIA’s inception in 2010. McCormack joins the other Office Bearers on FIA’s Governance Board.

“FIA benefits immensely from the vision and leadership of its Coordinating Council, and we look forward to learning from the unique perspectives and experiences of the new Councillors,” said FIA Executive Director Bev Postma, noting that the Coordinating Council brings together the region’s most experienced food and beverage industry leaders.

Asia Pacific President for Kraft Foods Pradeep Pant, who was re-elected to serve his third successive term as FIA President thanked the outgoing Office Bearers and welcomed the new members of the team.

“We’re pleased to welcome our three new Councillors,” said Pant. “Each of them brings a great deal of expertise and insight to the Council, and we look forward to working with them more closely. We’re fortunate to have a deep bench of talent, which allows us to maintain continuity and consistency at the top table, while incorporating fresh perspectives and enhancing the vision that drove the founding of FIA two years ago.”
